Pandit Nehru
Jawaharlal Nehru was born into a prominent family on 14 November 1889 in Allahabad, which was then a part of British India. He was the son of Motilal Nehru, a distinguished barrister who had risen to wealth through his own efforts. Motilal, belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community, played a significant role in India’s struggle for independence. He was a key figure in the Indian National Congress, serving as its president on two occasions in 1919 and 1928, contributing to the burgeoning political landscape of colonial India.
